Few have demonstrated a lifetime of unselfish service like Harold Wright. A local businessman and a dedicated family man, Harold has been a leader in his community and church. He has helped recruit jobs and has been a volunteer for many years. As chair of a statewide program for at-risk children, he proved to be a conservative with a heart to serve.

Harold Wright has been fighting for our conservative values for decades.

He was a county coordinator for U.S. Senator Don Nickles when he first entered politics. As a conservative lay delegate, Harold Wright was elected as part of a 10-person lay delegation to represent the Oklahoma Conference to the world-wide legislative body. Harold Wright helped to successfully lead the charge for traditional marriage, which the Bible defines as between one man and one woman.

Family Values

Faith is the cornerstone of Harold Wright's life. A husband, father and grandfather, Harold is a family man and a solid conservative. He will stand firm for the sanctity of life, traditional marriage and personal responsibility. Harold Wright’s optimism and tenacity are contagious. He believes the best is possible for Western Oklahoma, just as he has always believed the best for his family and community. Harold and his wife Carol, a retired school teacher, have been married for 39 years. They instilled the values of hard work, self-reliance and personal responsibility in their two children, who are now grown and married. Their daughter Angela, married to Bobby Marsee, is a Custer County Assistant District Attorney. Heston works with his father as the sales manager of Wright Wradio. Heston and his wife Claudia have two daughters, Abby, 3, and Ruby, just a few months old.

Business Experience

As a college student in the mid-1970s, Harold Wright worked as a disc jockey and salesman at the Weatherford radio station. He dared to dream that he might one day own the station. Many years later in 1991, after working hard to start his own business and earning the respect of his fellow broadcasters, Harold’s dream did come true. Today, Wright Wradio employs 17 full-time workers and operates stations in Clinton, Cordell and Weatherford. Harold Wright has big dreams for District 57, too. And he won’t stop until those dreams are made real. The Wright family has been serving the public as small business owners for three generations. Harold Wright’s grandfather H.L. owned the Wright Service Station in Custer County for 50 years, beginning in 1926. Later, Harold’s father Glenn joined the business, handling retail. Now, Harold and his son Heston are carrying on the family tradition of hard work and service. Harold believes government should unleash the entrepreneurial spirit of Oklahomans through lower taxes, fewer regulations and better spending decisions.

Unselfish Service

Few have served their community the way Harold Wright has. As a lifelong resident of the region, Harold believes leadership and service are both his responsibility and his calling. Armed with a volunteer spirit and sincere optimism, Harold will be a true citizen legislator for us.

Leadership that has made us proud

Harold Wright’s church asked him to lead its state-wide homes for at-risk children. As chairman of Circle of Care for 8 years, Harold managed a $4 million budget. From the Boy Scouts of America and the YMCA to the Chamber of Commerce and the Weatherford Hospital Authority Board, Harold Wright has continually demonstrated leadership with a servant heart.
